Dinesh Thakur is a Public Health Activist and the Founder of Thakur Family Foundation, Inc, a US based 501 (c) (3) organization that funds policy focused research in the areas of Public Health and Civil Liberties. Thakur is a trained Chemical Engineer who worked in the Pharmaceutical industry in the US and in India. In 2013, his complaint against India's largest drug company, Ranbaxy Laboratories was unsealed by the US Department of Justice where the company pled guilty to seven counts of criminal felony and agreed to pay fines and penalties of $500 million to the US. He is the co-author of the recently released book on The Myth of Drug Regulation in India, The Truth Pill.
