Joshua Felman formerly served as head of the International Monetary Fund office in India. Prior to this, he was a senior official at IMF headquarters in Washington DC, where he was in charge of the Fund's operations in Korea and responsible for its research on Asian issues. He has had a long involvement in Asia. During the Asian crisis, he was the Fund's representative in Indonesia, where he worked closely with the country's authorities in restoring its banking sector back to financial health. Subsequently, he was in charge of the IMFs operations in the Philippines, as that country was working to overcome the lingering effects of the crisis. Mr. Felman did his graduate work at Oxford University. He now runs an economic consulting firm, J H Consulting, focused on understanding the Asian markets.
