Dr. Karan Nagpal is the India Regional Director for IDinsight, a research, data analytics, and advisory organization. He leads a team of ~70 economists, data scientists, data engineers and public policy specialists based in Delhi who support national and state government actors non-profits to integrate data and evidence use into their decision-making. IDinsight uses several quantitative and qualitative research methods, including RCTs, sample surveys, machine learning and other rigorous methods to answer partners’ questions. Karan holds a PhD and an MPhil in Economics from the University of Oxford and a BA (Honors) in Economics from Delhi University. His own research focuses on governance and political economy in India.
