Tanika is an Associate Professor at the Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta. Formerly, she worked at DIW, Berlin and at IIT Kanpur after completing her PhD in Economics from Washington University, St Louis. She is a Fellow at Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA) Bonn, CESifo Munich and the Global Labor Organization. Tanika’s research interests are in the areas of Development Economics, including household finance decisions. Her research has featured in the Journal of Development Economics and the Journal of Economic Behavior and Organization among others. Tanika has provided policy advice to multiple government and international organizations and has served as an expert in GOI's minimum wage committee.
